Far be it from me to mix politics with Tech News but this kind of took me by surprise. Republican John McCain said on Monday if elected he would propose awarding a $300 million prize to the auto company that develops a next-generation car battery that weans America off oil. Two things wrong here that I see. One that a bunch of money to award anyone , yet along private enterprise  And two, that battery is probably already been developed. Call it the cynic in me , but technology is released in bits and pieces and only when profitable Corporations lust fo rthe bottom line is always the priority. It is no different here. It is and always will be about the money. Show me the money. Cant you see the auto companies telling him , I thnk we can do it for 500 Million!

Firefox 3, the Web browser from Mozilla, has broken the 14 million download mark. Launched on Download Day this past Tuesday, The company hoped for 5 million downloads in a World Record attempt. The Web browser surpassed that goal, ending up with over 8 million downloads in a 24 hour window.

So with that in mind I decided to as to the total last evening. While some of the features take some getting used to as always with new browsers. Ill get use to that . As I sit here and write this post I’m wondering to myself, When are you going to get a new computer. My old trust Compaq has been good to me, but its old, slow and tired. We are similar creatures. I would like to enlist the help of my readers and visitors on helping me to choose a new computer, or maybe a laptop. I can tell you now I’m looking very hard at an iMac . It is certainly in my price range. My concern is obviously my software , but I can solve that issue by loading a copy of XP on the iMac, on a different partition. I was reading about how slow your computer takes to boot up. I can eat a sandwich and watch the news before this old thing finishes that process. So here is what I’m looking for. I have budget of $1500.00. Help me spend my money. I spend 14 hours a day on a computer, I want fast, reliable and affordable. Please leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts.
